I’d characterize the Powell press conference as someone who didn’t really want to push back on much of the markets messaging outside of maybe adding another rate hike. He said, “We’re going to stay higher for longer but we’ll see.” On financial conditions he said they are not much different than where they were at the last FOMC statement in mid December. I recommend he gets a quote machine which would reveal otherwise.
